Eco-Friendly Insulation Materials

In today’s climate, we are all more conscious than ever about the impact we are having on the environment and how we can reduce our carbon footprint.

Curbing your energy consumption is one of the best initial improvements to make, though you do not need to radically change your lifestyle – something as simple as fitting new, eco-friendly insulation can help a great deal.

Installing effective insulation can be a great way to regulate your home’s temperature, save you money on your energy bills, and help the planet by reducing carbon emissions. Once the insulation pads are laid down by a professional installer, they will keep your house warm in the winter and purify the air flow in summer. RJ Insulation’s installers are experienced in handling a number of insulation products, each specialised for different purposes. We take special pride in our commitment to supplying high-quality, eco-friendly materials to our customers.

Sheep Wool

Real, organic sheep wool is one of the most effective natural insulating materials. Sheep wool is hygroscopic, meaning it can reduce humidity levels throughout a household by easily absorbing large amounts of excess moisture and water vapour. If you have an older house with untreated timber frames, this trait can also reduce the risk of mould growth on wet wood.

Hygroscopic (moisture absorbent)

100% organic

Lasts a lifetime

Safe to handle

Ideal for older properties

Locally sourced from British sheep

Non-flammable

Treated against attacks by clothes moths

Suitable for Lofts

SupaSoft Recycled Plastic

Researching ways to reuse plastic waste has been a top priority of scientists for many years. Fortunately, among many other applications, recycled plastic makes for excellent insulation material. You will feel secure in the knowledge that you will not have to regularly replace our plastic insulation, which is remarkably fluffy, flexible and long-lasting. As a final bonus, our plastic insulation can, itself, be recycled!

Soft and safe to touch

No respiratory risks

Made of non-degradable recycled plastic

Clean and simple to install

Lasts a lifetime

Vermin repellent

Melts rather than burns on contact with open flames

Suitable for Lofts

SuperFOIL

Foil is rapidly becoming the material of choice for insulating homes across the world. First seeing use aboard NASA spacecraft, affordable foil insulation is now endorsed by many countries as an essential installation for newer homes. While it may seem futuristic, foil insulation is clean and simple to install.

Clean and hygienic to install, with no mess

Our Lifetime Insulation Guarantee

RJ Insulation’s eco-friendly and sustainable products all come with a lifetime guarantee. The lifetime is against the building itself, so as long as your home stands, your SupaSoft, SuperFOIL or Sheeps Wool insulation will be covered by our guarantee. This guarantee is insurance backed by the Independent Warranty Association.

Benefits Of Laying Insulation With The RJ Insulation Team

Topping up your loft insulation can be a super investment if you want to keep as much heat inside your home as possible while saving loads of money on your energy bills! Nobody wants to live in a freezing cold house, after all. Made of finely cut glass strands, fibreglass has many unique properties that make it an ideal low-cost material for insulation.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

One crucial step we can all take to help the climate is to lower our carbon emissions. This can be easily achieved by cutting down on your energy consumption – a task often easier said than done. Effective home insulation offers the ideal solution, reducing your reliance on central heating systems and, in turn, shrinking your carbon footprint.

Cut Down on Your Energy Bills

One of the biggest advantages of getting sustainable insulation installed is the fact that it can dramatically reduce your energy bills. By retaining as much heat within your home as possible, insulation can keep your central heating system use in check. After feeling the many other benefits of insulation, you will be pleasantly surprised to find up to £315 shaved off your monthly energy bills!

Warmer Home in Winter

The UK is no stranger to bitterly cold winters. All too commonly, those living in poorly insulated homes will find themselves forced to overuse their heating, resulting in soaring energy payments. With improved insulation installed, you will quickly discover that your home feels warmer in winter than ever before.

Cooler Home in Summer

You might assume that insulation is all about keeping as much heat inside a home as possible – wouldn’t that make your home unbearably hot during the blazing summer months? There is no need to worry about overheating due to over-insulation, as the right amount of material should help ventilate your home and produce a cool air flow when the weather is warmer.

Reduce Mould and Condensation

Humidity and moisture in the air can cause condensation, the wetness you see around bathroom windows after you’ve had a hot shower. Mould grows as a result of excessive condensation build-up in certain areas of a house – windows, corners, partitions, bathrooms, and more. Since our insulation products can reduce humidity and purify the air throughout your home, installing it can also limit the risks of mould and condensation.

Increase the Value of Your Home on Resale

When it comes to properties on the market, both agents and buyers prefer listings with fully intact furnishings and features, including insulation in lofts and conservatories. A simple installation can dramatically boost the value of any home that’s going up for sale, even years later!

Which? Trusted Trader Installation Standards

Our team of expert insulation contractors have been approved by a number of organisations. Having worked hard to gain these accreditations, we are all proud to offer a consistently excellent service.

Do You Have A Project?

If you have an insulation fitting project that needs professional attention, make sure to get in touch with our team. Whether you have an installation, replacement or inspection in mind, we have the necessary expertise to help.

What Are The Telltale Signs Of Poor Home Insulation?

Condensation Build-Up

With nowhere else for water vapour to escape to, you’ll find condensation regularly gathering on windows, sinks and walls. Our eco-friendly insulation materials can redirect and, in some cases, absorb excess moisture rising up through your home.

Chilly Draughts

Is a cold breeze constantly passing through your home, even during warmer weather? This may be caused by poor air circulation throughout your home and can be remedied by improving your loft insulation.

Pests Appearing

Poor insulation has a tendency to attract vermin, including moths, rodents, insects, and other parasites. They enjoy warm spaces and usually build nests in any gaps they find. Our sustainable insulation products do not attract pests and are durable enough to withstand their attempts to burrow through.

High Energy Bills

If you’re concerned about how much energy you are using while your bills keep rising higher, consider the amount of heat that is being lost to the outside world due to inadequate insulation. By retaining warmth inside your home, you will rely less on your heating systems, and your energy bills will subsequently decrease.

Different Temperatures Between Rooms

Always finding yourself stuck in a Christmas jumper in the kitchen, then switching to summer shorts when you move to the lounge? Noticeable temperature changes between different rooms or between upstairs and downstairs areas can be easily fixed with proper insulation!

Certified Insulation

Installers

You may be wondering if our service is truly trustworthy. To assuage any concerns, several organisations have glowingly approved our service. RJ Insulation is a Which? Trusted Trader and Trading Standards Approved.

We were awarded a coveted PAS 2030:2019 accreditation for the installation of insulation, which also covers cross flow ventilation. Our installation team can also conform to PAS 2035:2019 regulations when we are required to do so.

In short, you can trust us for your insulation installation needs. Our friendly team always encourage you to make the most informed decisions about your preferred insulation through our online questionnaire.

Our Latest Insulation Installation Projects

Sheep Wool Loft Insulation Installation In Bures

This customer lived in a 12th-century cottage in Bures with a freezing cold loft. He came to us looking for a natural, sustainable solution. The space in question had very old fibreglass installed throughout.

We dutifully removed the old material and disposed of it in a skip. After cleaning and hoovering the entirety of the loft, we then installed 240mm of Sheep Wool insulation. Our team included eaves ventilation points to create a natural airflow to the loft. The property was left in a much tidier condition than when we arrived - with a pleased customer enjoying regulated temperatures within!

SuperFOIL Loft Insulation Installation In Welton

This SuperFOIL loft insulation installation took a 1960s home into the new millennium, boosting both efficiency and comfort levels.

With no lengthy waiting, we thoroughly assessed the property before establishing that foil insulation was the most suitable material to use. Since the property in question was a “quirky” ‘60s style house without modern trussed roofing, the SuperFOIL could be safely fitted.

Once given approval, we installed boarding over the joists in the client’s loft, before fitting SuperFOIL SF40 and filling up the eaves for ease of ventilation. As always, we left the property in as pristine a condition as when we first arrived.

Recycled Plastic Loft Insulation Installation In Chelmsford

These customers had a lovely, modern mid-terrace house. They wanted to get rid of all their old fibreglass in favour of installing SupaSoft recycled plastic insulation - an environmentally friendly, highly effective option.

After the successful removal of the existing material, we disposed of it and thoroughly cleaned the loft. Without any delay, we installed SupaSoft and eaves ventilation.

SuperFOIL Loft Insulation Installation In Birmingham

Mr. Naik approached us with the aim of insulating their loft and converting it into a functional living area.

To begin, we applied SuperFOIL insulation within the loft space, enhancing its thermal efficiency. Next, we installed insulated plasterboard on top of the SuperFOIL to not only improve insulation but also provide an attractive finish to the ceiling.

Afterwards, we fully boarded the loft and laid vinyl flooring to create a practical, comfortable space. We also incorporated kitchen cupboards with a countertop and integrated electrical wiring for added functionality.

To make access convenient, we installed an electric drop-down ladder, which can be controlled using a remote for easy entry and exit.
